SEO Terminology
Adwords - Google's advertising network open to anyone wanting to advertise online. Adwords ads are keyword targeted and sold on a cost per click basis. Advertisers compete in auction for the top sponsored link spots on search result pages.

Cache - This is the copy of a web page stored by a search engine.

CPC - This stands for "cost per click". Ads through programs like Google Adwords are sold in auctions where the advertiser is charged a price per click based on the advertiser's budget.

De-Listing - Becoming de-indexed from a directory or search engine, whether it be temporary or permanent.

Flash - Flash is animation software made by Macromedia, known for making sites look rich and interactive in nature. It is difficult for search engines to index flash sites because of a lack of content.

Google Keyword Tool - This is Google's tool for estimating competition for a keyword, recommending related keywords and detailing what keywords are relevant to your site.

Keyword - A word or phrase which describes your business or service, quite commonly associated with a geographic area. For example, if you are a dermatologist in New Jersey, your customers may find you by searching "New Jersey dermatology".

Meta Description - This is the tag that is typically a sentence or two of content which describes the content of the page. There should be a meta description on every page of your website that focuses specifically on the content of that page.
Meta Keywords - This is the tag which that lists keywords and keyword phrases the page is targeting.

Meta Tags - Meta descriptions and meta keywords are collectively called meta tags.

Organic Search Results - The unpaid listings, sometimes called "natural search results", resulting from a search on a search engine.

Quality Content - Link-worthy content.

Search Engine Optimization SEO - Search engine optimization is the process of publishing information on the internet and marketing it in a way that helps search engines find your site.

SEO Copywriting - Writing the content for your site in a way that helps documents appear relevant to a wide array of search queries.

Spider - Search engine programs that search the web for pages to index.
